2018 nPLTC CONVENTION
April 21, 2018 | Grand Island, NE
This year’s theme is “King of my Heart” and our study will be from the book of 1 Samuel. After the chaos of the Judges, God gives the Tribes of Israel spiritual leaders to begin unifying the Israelites. When the people of Israel ask for a king to lead them, God gives them what they ask. Saul becomes Israel’s king, but because the people are relying on a human, rather than putting their faith in God, there are failures that take place. Through Hannah, Samuel, King Saul, David, and others, God shows us that we must humbly devote our hearts and lives to God as the ultimate king of our heart!
The 2018 verse will challenge us to look within ourselves and teach us to reflect on our flaws. It will teach us we must deal with our dark side and cut ourselves out so God can come in. There are many idols of the world we can put our hope in, but our ultimate challenge is to put our trust in God in all things. We are taught that we must put our pride and selfishness aside, and trust, and hope that despite human evil, God, in his time will oppose the proud and exalt the humble. Can God truly be the king of your life?
